About Department

1. The Department of History The History Department aims to make the students aware of the past and its legacies through teaching, and extension activities in Indian history in the context of world history.
2. The Department believes a critical understanding of the past will enable the students to understand the present and help them look towards the future.
3. The department of history was established in 1966 with telugu as the medium of instruction in the college.
4. History was introduced as one of the undergraduate programmes with the combination of political science and economics.
5. History deals with the roots of the civilization and helps the student to get an insight of the ancient times
6. To understand the present a insight of the past is essential as history is an unending dialogue between the past and present.
7. The department offers G.E and S.E.C courses in the present academic year.
   
   

Vision:

The department aims to give a proper understanding of Indian History and its cultural past as it believe that history is an unending dialogue between the past and present. To make the present more relevant it exposes the students to a proper understanding of the rich cultural heritage of the past.

Mission                                                                 :

The department strives hard to transform the students into citizens of India who are critically informed about the past and its consequences for the present. It helps the student to understand the past which happens to be a complex process and a critical dialogue.

• Critically understand the society and economy of the nation.
• A historical understanding of Indian society and the plurality of its nature can be understood.
• Its gives a strong idea of history and in the process builds a national consciousness.
