About Department

The Department of Statistics came into existence in the year 1976 with the introduction of traditional course B.A (MES) in Telugu medium. As per the need and importance of computer science in the global scenario, the traditional course was subsequently converted into restructured course B.Sc (M.S.Cs) in the year 2002. The Department aim is to focus not only in the theocratical development of the Statistics but also in the application of statistical techniques for analyzing real life data and to provide practical exposure in handling latest statistical software. In the process of expansion of the courses in the year 2020 B.Sc (M.S.Ds, M.P.S) and B.A (MES) English medium. The department has presently one assistant professor who is actively involved in teaching and interdisciplinary activities

To develop techniques in sample survey, statistical analysis and computer skills among the UG learners and instill in the students the human values and professional ethics.

Mission:

• To focus on statistical sciences and its applications.
• To improve the capability of student to design and conduct experiments as well as analyses and interpret data.
• Equip student with analytical and problem-solving skills.
